Allergens

Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butters (100% Peanuts Creamy, Crunchy and No-Stir) are made in peanut-only facilities. There are no other allergens present in the facility, and the peanut butter has no cross-contamination with our nut butter products)
Crazy Richards’s Almond Butters* (100% Almonds and Cinnamon Almond Butter) are made in tree-nut-only, peanut-free facilities. This facility also processes Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamias, pistachios, pecans, and walnuts.
Crazy Richard’s peanut powder* are packaged in a facility that may also process milk/whey, eggs, fish, shellfish, coconuts, almonds, wheat and soy.
*For the powder and the almond butters, while other ingredients are present in the same facility, per our food safety policy, the equipment is cleaned and tested for allergen residues before being switched between products with different allergens.
Aflatoxin

Aflatoxin is a compound that is produced by molds that can grow on grains and nuts. All peanut butter manufactured in the U.S. undergoes a strict and thorough testing process by the USDA to ensure aflatoxin levels are kept well below any harmful level. As of July 2026, the official requirement in the U.S. is that aflatoxin levels be no more than 20 parts per billion (ppb). The peanuts used in our peanut butter are well below that level.
Beyond these USDA standards, we do several things to ensure that aflatoxin levels in our peanut butter are kept well below the recommended minimum:
- we use only USDA graded and approved peanuts grown in the U.S.
- we blend peanuts from different peanut lots to prevent concentration of aflatoxin
- we blanch the peanuts (remove the skins, where most aflatoxin would reside)
- we independently test the peanut butter several times during our production process to monitor aflatoxin levels.
You can find more information about Aflatoxin and peanuts in the U.S. from the National Peanut Board.
Glyphosate

One of the most common chemicals used on crops in the United States is glyphosate. Crazy Richard’s peanut butters and peanut powder are tested on a regular basis for glyphosate residues, and they’ve always been glyphosate residue free. You can learn more about it here.
